This is a listing for one of the first TMJ shows I ever attended (I think it was my third). They had only just been dropped by Giant and this show was during the CMJ New Music Festival. It was a great, if brief show. Penn Jillette of Penn & Teller was to my immediate right, pogo-ing up and down the whole night. They performed a speedy cover of Tom Waits' "I Don't Want To Grow Up" (before The Ramones did) and the then-newish "Secret Handshake". I was seventeen and it was a school night.
